AARIANIA CELEBRATES 2 YEARS OF FOUNDING

OCCITANIAN PRIME MINISTER VISITS CATALONIA

On May 21st, 2018, the Occitanian Prime Minister Babou Chkaya went to the Catalonian region of Val d’Aran. Prime Minister Chkaya visited places in Catalonia related to Occitanian culture and the Republic retreat in the Spanish Civil War. This visit was also to, according to the Popular Union of Occitania’s Blog, “bring the support of the Popular Union of Occitania to the Aranese population in the political-juridical conflict with the Spanish government after the ban on the preferential use of the Occitan language in the area; and more generally supports Catalonia in its movement of social and democratic emancipation”.

NEW JUCLANDIAN CURRENCY TO BE ADOPTED SOON

On May 21st, 2018, the Juclandian Council of Ministers adopted a law that changed the Juclandian currency from the Leu (JŁ) to the new digital currency of Avo (₳). This law will become effective on June 1st, 2018. “The aim”, according to the telenot, “is to reduce paperwork, ease transactions and improve the country’s services by relying on online services and AI”. Their will be two versions of the Avo, the National Avo and the Convertible Avo (1 Euro is 10 Avos).

SABIA AND VERONA ELECTION UPDATE

On May 21st, 2018, it was announced by the Electoral Commission of Sabia and Verona that the Democratic party had 11 seats (47%), the Liberals kept 10 seats (43%), while the Artists Party won 2 seats in parliament.
